This Cookie Policy explains how I Will Be There uses cookies and similar technologies on iwillbethere.app. It complements our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. "Similar technologies" includes localStorage and sessionStorage, which work similarly to cookies but are managed by the page rather than sent back with each HTTP request.
Cookies and similar technologies can do useful things (keep you signed in, remember your preferences) and intrusive things (track you across websites, profile you for advertising).
We use only strictly-necessary technologies. We don't use any analytics, advertising, profiling, or tracking technologies.
| Technology | What it does | Type | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
sessionStorage: iwbt:session | Holds your authentication session token so you stay signed in for the duration of your browser session | Strictly necessary | IWBT |
sessionStorage: iwbt:helpMode | Remembers whether you've chosen the "Help for desktop" or "Help for mobile" view in the help library | Strictly necessary | IWBT |
sessionStorage: iwbt:lastScreen | Remembers which screen you were on so you can recover if the page accidentally reloads | Strictly necessary | IWBT |
Cloudflare security cookies (__cf_bm etc.) | Bot-protection and abuse prevention by our hosting provider | Strictly necessary | Cloudflare |
That's the complete list.
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and the equivalent EU ePrivacy Directive, consent is required before placing non-essential cookies on your device. Strictly-necessary cookies — those without which the site cannot function — are exempt from this requirement.
All the storage items above are strictly necessary to:
Because we do not use any non-essential cookies, we are not required to display a consent banner, and we don't display one.
If we ever introduce non-essential cookies (analytics, advertising, profiling), we will:
We will also update this Cookie Policy and the "Last updated" date.
Cloudflare is our hosting provider. They set a small number of strictly-necessary cookies on every page to detect malicious traffic (bots, DDoS, credential-stuffing attempts) and to keep the service available. The most common are:
__cf_bm — bot mitigation, expires after 30 minutes of inactivitycf_clearance — for users who have passed a CAPTCHA challengeThese are functional/security cookies, not tracking cookies. Cloudflare describes them in detail at cloudflare.com/cookie-policy.
You can:
Blocking cookies and sessionStorage on IWBT will prevent you from staying signed in. The service will still load, but you will be signed out on every page navigation.
We recommend leaving the IWBT cookies alone. They are minimal and don't track you.
We do not currently use localStorage (which persists indefinitely across browser sessions) or IndexedDB (a structured client-side database) for any user data.
We use only sessionStorage, which is automatically cleared when you close the browser tab.
We do not embed any third-party content that sets its own cookies (no social media widgets, no YouTube embeds, no advertising networks, no analytics services).
If our cookie usage changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes (e.g. introducing non-essential cookies) will trigger a consent banner the next time you visit.
